Beaver County Voice for Change is a grassroots organization that began with like-minded people who were completely fed-up with the state of our politics after the 2016 election. We live in a community where those who support the Republican ideas far outweigh those who lean left. We found that we all shared a common feeling, that we all had been cautious, up until now, in sharing our thoughts about the state of our country and the politics involved. Our mindset changed, however, as we continued down this long and Trumpy road.
We are women who marched at the Women’s March in Washington D.C., Pittsburgh, and Beaver, PA. We are women who never thought that they would become politically involved. We are women who didn’t want to share our political views. We are women who have had enough.
Within a couple of days after the Parkland, FL shooting, in February 2018, President Trump canceled a previously scheduled visit to Ambridge, PA where several of us had planned to peacefully protest him, his values, and his party. Instead, twenty-three of us, women and men, gathered in a living room in Beaver, PA to have a honest discussion concerning the state of our Country and County and what we could do to make a change. As a result of that initial meeting in March, 2018, Beaver County Voice for Change was born. Beaver County Voice for Change is exactly that, a voice. We support our local democrat candidates and officials and we support;
Common Sense Gun Laws, Healthcare for All, Voters’ Rights & Fair Districts, Tax Policy that Favors the Majority, Quality Public Education, Social Justice, Racial Justice, Gender Equity, Reproductive Rights, LGBTQ Rights, Climate Change Solutions, Respect for our Democratic Institutions, and Integrity in the Oval Office We have over 270 members and we continue to grow. We work with and support other local organizations that also share our same goals. We have accomplished so much in such a short amount of time yet we know our work is far from done. We will continue to make our voices heard and we will continue to represent Democrats in Beaver County. It’s time for a change.
